The movie [REC], codirected by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza has been awarded with the Great Award of the International Film Festival of Oporto 2008 (Fantasporto) in Portugal, and also with the Audience Award.
The film, produced by Julio Fernández for Filmax, was received with great success by part of the audience which dedicated a long standing ovation.
Fanstasporto, which was held from February 25th to March 9th, is one of the Festivals of genre more importants of the world. Those awards add to the already granted: 2 Goya awards (Best Novel Actress – Manuela Velasco and Best Editing – David Gallart), 4 awards at the Sitges Film Festival (Best Actress, Best Direction, Audience Award, Critic Award) and 3 awards at the Film Festival of Gérardmer (Jury Award, Young Jury award and Audience Award).

The movie will visit soon the Brussel International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF) and the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival (AFFF).
